When I first joined 5 years ago, I only did 6 sets of CLT 5E Movement Form in the morning and 15 mins Still Form at night. It was later on when shared that if our field is not cleansed before sleeping, the contamination or imprint can embed itself further into the field. That's when I started to do both CLT 5E Movement Form and Still Form in the morning and night as well as when I come home from office or shopping. Since I've started doing 6 sets of movemen and min 30 mins still form at night, there has been a great deal of improvement in my field - clarity in thoughts and more energy.
When i first started practising CLT, i practiced 6 seats in the morning along with still form but slowly increased it to 9 sets and 12 sets over the years depending on my exposure. During my career break, I raised my practice to 18 sets a day, 9 sets in the morning along with the still form and 9 in the evening. I found the more sets i practiced, the more able i am to maintain clarity of mind and remain balanced. This coupled with reduction in contamination made it easier for me to understand the teachings and raise my consciousness.
As for the frequency of practice, it depends on the individual's exposure level. For some who have low exposure to contamination, perhaps once a day is sufficient. For those who have high exposure, perhaps the frequency ought to be raised. There is not standard rule to follow. A practitioner need to exercise their discretion on the frequency that would help them maintain a clean field. This requires sensitivity to sense a clean field which require love for self and others.
A new practitioner asked: Why is still form done sitting cross-legged on the floor? Is there a difference doing CLT still form sitting cross-legged on the floor compared to sitting on a chair? I find that when my legs get numb from sitting cross legged, my mind tend to wander.
HG Replies: Yes, there is a difference. The reason why practitioners are not able to sit comfortably in meditation initially is because karmic particles are congested in the spine and bones. It is known that dense karma will exude from the legs while the practitioner withstand pain and discomfort building up in the legs.
There is no a strong requirement in CLT 5E Practice on how to position the legs. It is based more on principles so a simple fold or half lotus pose is sufficient.
