Harmony & Unity - A Lesson from Birds of different feathers

I feed birds which come flocking to my back garden. There are 5 different types of birds – sparrows, myna and a few other species which I don’t know the names.

I have been observing them during feed time and what surprises me is how harmonious they are when they are eating – they could be just a few inches or centimeters from each other – different species pecking on the same feed without any fight or fury. On days when feeding time is much delayed, most would go elsewhere looking for food but there will be some on watch and once I throw the feed out, they would chirp as if signaling to the rest and within seconds many would flock in.

This has become a routine for the birds although on days I give them much less than the normal feed. It does not stop them from calling out to their kind or make them fight for food. It makes me wonder why humans can’t be like them – no matter what colour or creed, we ought to be living in harmony but, do we?

I learned from the CLT forums and workshops that the seed of love is sown in each of us, deep in our hearts but due to attachments and fears, the seed planted by our Primal Creator is not able to germinate as it is covered and wrapped by layers of fears, worries, wants, desires etc. From the CLT perspective, our true fundamental nature is one that is selfless, loving and always seeks the truth. Love which is of the highest frequency is able to dissolve fears and hence resolves all problems. CLT practitioners are guided to relearn the meaning of true love by being harmonious with all beings and observing the principle of free will.
